What is guacamole? Full of potassium, fiber, and other nutrients, guacamole is one of the most delicious items of food that is still considered to be healthy. Guacamole is a staple in Tex-Mex cuisine, and is extremely common as a garnish for burritos, tacos, pitas, and other wraps or sandwiches or as a dip for chips and other crunchy snacks. So what is guacamole made from and where did it come from? Guacamole actually originated with the Aztecs in Mexico, and is an avocado based dip, condiment or salad component. It is typically made from mashing avocados and adding sea salt, tomato, garlic, lemon, juice, and a bevy of other herbs and spices.
