There are many sports young men and women can enjoy that bring them the pleasure of teamwork, competition, physical activity, socialization and more. There are different sports for each age group, though many in their early adult years will find pleasure in just a few. There are many sports that can appeal to that age in life.
Soccer is a sport enjoyed by many. It involves the use of a ball, often a black and white ball, that the teams need to put into the opposing team’s goal, which is a fairly large size and guarded by someone called “the goalie.” Each team is composed of more than ten players, making movement around the field effective for this sport.
Tennis is another sport that is enjoyed by some. Tennis involves a net, which people try to get the ball over. Unlike in soccer, the ball in a tennis match is small and fuzzy and green and is hit by a person with a large racquet, which is generally a piece of metal with strings inside. The goal is to hit the ball over the net in the lines against the person.
Volleyball is a sport that is enjoyed by many. Volleyball is a team sport that is often played indoors on wood or outdoors on sand. Volleyball involves the use of a large white ball that is hit with teamwork over the net, which is about eight to ten feet off the ground. The other team tries to hit it back. When it hits the floor, one team loses.
Basketball is another sport that is enjoyed by many. It involves two hoops, which are raised about ten feet from the ground. The hoops are at each end of a court and the teams try to put a large orange ball into one of the hoops. The team that does this more or scores more points wins the game.
Baseball (or softball for women) is another game that is enjoyed by many. Baseball involves the use of bases (small square objects placed on the ground), a bat (wooden or metal long cylinder), a ball (which is very small, like a tennis ball but white and without the fuzz), and cleats. The goal is to score as many points as possible.
Hockey is another sport that is enjoyed by many. Hockey involves pads, usually hip pads, shin guards, a chest pad, and shoulder pads, as well as a helmet and skates. The goal is to get the puck (a small circular rubbery object) into the goals, which are opposite each other. This is done when hitting them with sticks.
Golf is another sport that is enjoyed by many. Golf involves the use of clubs to hit a ball into a hole. That hole may be a few dozen yards away or even as far as 600 yards away. There are many helpful points to know about golf, as it is a sport enjoyed by both men and women. There are some statistics.
